The New Rule

The New Rule 

             One day, there was a  meeting  of all the animals in a forest. The deer stood up and said, “Friends, we can all live together peacefully and happily without hunting anyone. Why should anyone of us kill others for food?”

             The fox murmured ,“You can find a handful of grass any where, so it’s easy to talk of good principles.”

             The wolf growled, “Can a lion, a tiger and other animals like me eat grass?”

             The deer said , “God has created grass, leaves, grain, fruit and vegetables for us to eat. We can choose some of these. We need not kill other animals. How will tigers feel  if lions kill for food? What will happen if tigers kill wolves?”  

              The lion, the king of the forest, listened to all this. Then he said,  “I agree with what the deer says. Some of must change our food  habits. I will start eating fruits and vegetables I want my friends– the tiger, the wolf and other animals– to stop killing .”

All the animals agreed with the lion.
